Lasertron Chosen to Supply
Decorative Architectural Stainless Steel
for North Carolina Veterans' Park Fountain

Lasertron, one of the premier suppliers of decorative architectural elements in the United States, jointly announced the opening of the new veterans’ state park in Fayetteville, NC.

Lasertron was chosen to supply the ornamental stainless steel elements used to decorate the symbolic fountain in the park. Lasertron used its proprietary software and computer laser equipment to etch the stainless steel panels facing the fountain. Gary Geller, President of Lasertron, states “With our unparalleled experience in the laser’s use in metal decoration, we could translate the designer’s concept to the metal’s surface while accurately coordinating the many panels to form a completed work of art."

Because of many considerations, especially the traffic rerouting, the $13 million Park had to be completed in a short period of time so as not to unduly inconvenience the residents of Fayetteville. The individual panels were designed, and computer design files were then sent to Lasertron’s office in Sunrise, FL. Utilizing their custom software programs all measurements and artwork were assembled and soft proofed on Lasertron’s computer system. After approval by the designer, computer code was sent to the laser cutters and design equipment. Each panel was then cut and decorated and the entire design was assembled in the Lasertron shop. Attachment to the concrete substrate was simplified by incorporating the custom attachment hardware with the panels. Installation of the panels took less than a day and was completed in time for the park opening on July 4th.

Lasertron’s proprietary metal decoration process is suitable for panel sizes up to 48”x 96” and does not use toxic chemicals.
